MangoGem SA and HIPPEROS SA have just signed a technology and commercial partnership on Embedded Analytics. Embedded Analytics concerns the collection of data by embedded devices and its processing either on the device itself (edge computing) or by a backend server. Typical techniques related to data science, machine learning, heuristics or optimization are used in order to extract information from data and achieve Decision Support.

For MangoGem, this partnership brings HIPPEROS’s expertise in real-time, embedded systems and devices, which help create the IoT devices that can capture production & logistics data in real-time in the context of Industry 4.0 and real-time logistics. This is an important add-on when the ORITAMES APS Scheduler is used as a real-time decision support systems.

artemis-logoThe ARTEMIS European R&D CRAFTERS project has started on June 1st 2012. CRAFTERS stands for "ConstRaint and Application driven Framework for Tailoring Embedded Real-time Systems". The ARTEMIS Industrial Association brings together companies and institutions in the field of embedded systems and currently has over 200 members. UEG joined ARTEMIS in 2011.

CRAFTERS' goal is the development of a tightly integrated multi-vendor framework, complementing existing standards for secure, interoperable, efficient and timely pathways to system realization and application deployment for real-time applications of heterogeneous, networked, embedded many-core systems. As direct effects of the project results, it’s expected a 30% reduction of the total cost of ownership, a 50% shorter time-to-market and a 30% decrease of the number of development assets. The available budget for the project is close to 18M € and includes a total of 26 different companies and universities from ten European Union countries.

UEG, together with the ULB, is a partner in CRAFTERS with financial support from the Brussels Region R&D Funding Agency Innoviris. UEG's activities in CRAFTERS are related to its OMETRIS suite of modeling, simulation, validation, feasibility and schedulability analysis tools for real-time embedded systems.

List of CRAFTERS participants grouped by country:
